Dear attendee, presenter, convener of the EMS2024,

The EMS Annual Meeting 2024 is a week away and we would like to provide you with some updates that may be useful for you.

• Presentation upload: If you are giving a presentation, remember to upload your presentation at least 24 hours before the start of your session.
• Guidelines for presenters, conveners, attendees and side meeting organizers: Please check out these pages for detailed information.
• Registration & name badge pick-up: Please remember to complete your registration and payment online before you arrive at the conference venue. A self-service name badge printing will be in use in Barcelona. Please download the QR before you arrive at the conference. Badge printers are located directly opposite the main entrance to the Vestíbul and will be active from Sunday, 1 September, at 15:00 CEST until 18:00 CEST. We encourage all participants to pick up their name badge already on Sunday to steer clear of the any queues on Monday morning, and then join us for the icebreaker on Sunday afternoon (18:00 CEST).
• Online access to oral sessions: Access oral sessions virtually through zoom or via the stream, all links will become available 15 minutes prior to the session on the session page. Any participation in a session, whether online or onsite, as presenter or attendee, in zoom or through the stream, requires a registration for the conference.
• EMS2024 app: To access the session programme on your mobile device we recommend to download the EMS2024 app, which will become available next week on the EMS2024 landing page.
• Outstanding Poster Award 2024: If you are participating as contestant, remember to upload your presentation file until 29 August. To find this year's winner of the award we ask all attendees to contribute to the evaluation of the participating posters. Public voting is open Monday, 2 September and closes on Thursday, 5 September at 19:30 CEST. Onsite, participating posters are marked as OPA contestant; the list and voting tool is available online.
• Overviews & downloads: A session overview, special events overview, daily highlights and daily programmes are available within the EMS2024 app and as download from the main conference page and the programme section respectively. If you prefer print-outs we invite you bring them already along.
• Venue: To find the venue and plan your local travel please check out details on the public transport in Barcelona; note the discount on the Hola Barcelona Travel Cards for EMS2024 attendees.
• Please bring your own coffee/tea cup: Bottles for refill at the water dispensers located at all catering spots will be provided by the Meteorological Service of Catalonia SMC – pick it up near the name badge printers.
• ECMWF Forecast User Side Event: A few places are still available for the ECMWF Forecast User Side Event on Tuesday, 3 September in Barcelona. Registration is available here.
• Daily weather information: The weather information will be provided at the SMC booth.
