On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the EMS, the Meteorological Service of Catalonia and the Government of Catalonia are hosting a celebration in the beautiful premises of the Palau Reial de Pedralbes.

The celebration (or "festa" in Catalan language) will take place on Wednesday, 4 September 2024 at 20:00 CEST and will include demonstrations of the Catalan culture, music, and cuisine that will make a unique event for all the participants. A free shuttle bus service is planned to connect the conference venue to the Palau Reial de Pedralbes.

Procedure for attending the Festa

1. Only those who registered for the Festa during their conference registration will be able to attend. Some people on the waiting list may also have been included. In both cases, you will receive or have already received a confirmation email with this information.
2. If you successfully registered for the Festa but later change your mind or will not attend, please cancel your booking by sending an email to ems2024.meteocat@gencat.cat
3. Registered attendees must pick up their accreditation ticket at the SMC booth. Pickup times will be from 08:00 to 09:00 CEST, during the morning and afternoon coffee breaks, and the lunch break, in all cases from Monday to Wednesday. Tickets can be picked up until lunchtime (14:00 CEST) on Wednesday, at the latest. Anyone who has not picked up their ticket by then will be assumed not to be attending.
4. There will be two types of tickets:
1. Festa + Shuttle Bus Ticket: The SMC will provide shuttle buses connecting the conference venue (University) with the Palau de Pedralbes (round trip). When picking up the ticket, you will be informed of the pick-up time and location.
2. Festa Ticket: This ticket grants access to the Festa.
5. The number of seats on the buses is limited, so we ask local attendees, where possible, to opt for transportation using their own means (i.e., public transport). Please note that a visit to the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (located just a few meters from the Festa venue) is scheduled for the same afternoon, so those attending the visit will not be able to use the shuttle buses.
6. To access the Festa venue using public transport, you can use the metro (L1+L3 lines: L1 from Universitat to Espanya, and L3 from Espanya to Palau Reial, approximate duration of the journey: 35 min) or bus (number 63 or 67, approximate duration of the journey: 35–40 min).
